Do you remember the post I made a long time ago about me not having a style? I think I am slowly changing when it comes to that hahaha.
Is it the age? Probably! Is it the new hair colour? Probably. I don’t know what it is but I am finding myself not struggling when it comes to how to wear the items I have in my wardrobe, what I like and it seems that I am always going for the same sort of stuff and I am also more and more careful with my purchases.
What kind of items I’m looking for now?
I’m looking for more and more basic pieces. The more good basic pieces you have, the easiest to build an outfit around it. Yes, I do buy more sophisticated pieces too, but I try to buy less.
Also, I am finding myself buying more and more edgy items.
What do I keep, what do I donate?
I have a new rule: Buy something, donate something. I get emotionally attached to items and sometimes they end up in my wardrobe for years. I recently decided to start donating every time I buy a new item. Trust me, it helped a lot! You end up with just the items you wear and obviously, you make space for new ones.
The accessories dilemma
Things change a bit when it comes to accessories and that’s because I am a sucker for accessories. I have a problem and I know I need to stop, but I just can’t. I am working on it tho.
First step will be: Get rid of the things I don’t wear anymore.
Second step: Invest in items that will last a lifetime.
Third and hardest step: Stop thinking you need every single fedora hat you find!
